Robert Coates, MD

Robert Coates, MD joined the Hunterdon Helpline Board of Trustees in November 2025 and also serves as a Volunteer Shopper, helping support older adults and homebound residents throughout the community.

Dr. Coates earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and a Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He practiced family medicine in Hampton, New Jersey, for 27 years before serving in executive leadership at Hunterdon Medical Center, concluding his career as Chief Medical Officer.

His experience as both a physician and healthcare leader brings valuable expertise in patient care, community health, and organizational leadership to Hunterdon Helpline.
